4 (1/2 pound) minute steaks (also called cube steaks)
1/4 cup hot water
Salt and pepper to taste
1 (10.5 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 packet onion soup mix

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the steaks on both sides.
3. Arrange meat in a single layer in a 13x9 inch baking dish. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Deglaze pan with 1/4 cup water, scraping the bottom to remove the browned bits (this is where all the flavor is!). Stir in soup and onion soup mix. Pour over steaks. Cover baking dish with foil. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour. Serves 4.
