2 cups uncooked rice
1 cup orzo pasta or broken spaghetti pieces
1/4 cup dried parsley flakes
6 tablespoons chicken or beef bouillon powder (I use chicken)
2 teaspoons onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon thyme

Mix all ingredients and store in an airtight container. To use, combine 1 cup mix with 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, and 2 cups of water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes until rice is tender.

(NOTE: I prefer to make the seasoning mix and store it separately from the rice/pasta mixture, because the seasonings tend to collect at the bottom of the container instead of remaining evenly distributed. If you would like to do this also, you will need 1/4 cup seasoning mix per cup of rice mix).

Quick thought. This should also be tagged as 1) Rice 2) Pasta and 3) Side dishes. The other night I was looking and looking for this recipe. I ended up using something off since I couldn't find it here (plus Google didn't pick it up...) :)

PS- It's tasty enough to make for a crowd!!

Allie, I fixed it. I put it under pasta and side dishes, but I don't have a rice category.

I think Google probably missed it since it's under "Seasoned Rice Mix" instead of Rice-A-Roni.
