INGREDIENTS
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup white sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups boiling water

DIRECTIONS
-Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8-inch square pan.
-In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Stir in the milk, melted butter and vanilla. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
-In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cocoa. Sprinkle over the batter in the pan. Very carefully pour the boiling water over the entire pan of batter.
-Bake for 45 minutes in the preheated oven. The cake is done when the cake part is on top and the bottom is of a pudding consistency.
